ok so this might sound dramatic but hear me out.

i was scrolling facebook last night and i ended up in this group about gardening. 50k members. sounds great right? but every post was the same. generic questions. weird ai pictures of vegetables that dont even look real. comments that all say the same thing like “great post thanks for sharing” from accounts with no real history.

and i just sat there thinking who is actually here? is anyone real?

then i started noticing it everywhere. instagram reels with ai voices. youtube comments that feel copy pasted. even reddit man. i used to love reddit. now half the posts feel like they were written by a robot trying to sound like a person.

i remember when the internet felt like a bunch of weirdos and nerds and real people just talking. now it feels like im walking through a mall thats technically open but all the stores are empty and the mannequins are moving.

is it just me? am i going crazy? or did something actually break?

like where do you even go now to talk to real humans? cause i genuinely dont know anymore.

would love to hear if anyone else feels this way

hey, Uncle John here. yeah i feel you man. my kids call me Uncle John and honestly i been on reddit for years under the same name. i see the same thing your talking about.

i used to love the comment sections. now its all bots and copy paste replies. feels like talking to a wall that talks back.

best advice i got? find small groups. not the big ones. the ones with like 500 people where you actually recognize names. thats where the real ones are hiding.

your not crazy. your just paying attention. keep looking, we’re still out here.
