Is my phone actually listening to me? How much do apps really know about my private life?

ok so this might sound crazy but i swear my phone is listening. me and my buddy were talking about some product and 10 min later boom, ad for it on instagram. that aint a coincidence right?

and every app wants access to my mic, camera, location, photos. why does a flashlight need my location?? makes no sense.

i got personal stuff on my phone. messages, photos, bank info. are they recording me? selling my data? should i be worried or am i just paranoid?

and if anyone knows how to lock my privacy down without deleting every app, let me know. feel like i got zero control here.

so heres the truth. is your phone listening? kinda. not like recording every word and saving it. but yeah these apps pick up on stuff. its the mic, the searches, the likes, all of it. they put it together and boom suddenly your seeing ads for that thing you talked about. creepy? absolutely.

the flashlight app wanting your location? bro thats just straight up data farming. they sell that stuff. its a whole business.

but heres the good news. you got way more control than you think.

first, go to your phone settings. check app permissions. if a flashlight wants your mic turn that off. if a game wants your contacts, deny it. you dont gotta delete anything just turn off what dont make sense.

second, turn off ad tracking. iphone has a setting for that. android too. takes 30 seconds.

third, dont hit agree on everything. i know nobody reads that stuff but at least skim it next time lol

and yeah they sell your data. but you can make it harder for them. do the stuff above and your already ahead of 90% of people.

your not paranoid man. your just paying attention. thats a good thing.

gonna go thru my settings tonight and turn off all the junk i dont need. the flashlight thing blew my mind lol why they even need that
