Hey Rachel, I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. I went through something really similar, so I know how awful it feels.
I lost crypto to a scam too, and afterward I tried everything to get it back. I reached out to a few of those “crypto recovery” companies, and honestly it went nowhere. I never saw a cent of it again.
What I learned the hard way is that once the money’s been sent, especially straight to a scammer’s wallet, it’s really, really hard to recover. And please be careful if anyone contacts you out of the blue saying they can get everything back for an upfront fee. I ran into people like that, and it was basically just a second scam on top of the first.
I did report it and tried a bunch of different routes, but I still haven’t gotten my money back. I don’t want to give you false hope or tell you there’s definitely a way. But I’d still report everything, and save every bit of evidence you can: messages, wallet addresses, transaction IDs, screenshots, emails, and the website details. If anyone ever does investigate, that stuff could really matter.
And please don’t beat yourself up. These scams are built to look legit and to earn your trust slowly. You’re definitely not the only one who’s fallen for one.
I really hope things work out better for you than they did for me.
